We have some great news Woodstock friends!
Woodstock Arts has joined the Nagel’s Bagel family and will start proudly serving Nagel’s Bagels beginning Wednesday, March 16.
In case you aren’t familiar with this not-so-secret coffee shop, it is at the Reeves House Visual Arts Center located right on the Noonday Trail, 734 Reeves St., Woodstock GA 30188. They serve amazing coffee and other beverages, along with sweets from Bananas and Beehives and now Nagel’s Bagels! Enjoy while sitting on the front porch or checking out the really cool art.
We are thrilled to have a new friend and another great place to get Nagel’s Bagels.
Afternoon tea has been a tradition in our family for as long as I can remember. Whether it was a simple English Breakfast tea with Nilla Wafers and peanut butter or a full spread with finger sandwiches, scones and petit fours, we have always loved sitting down to afternoon tea in our house.
Our family’s personal favorites are the cucumber sandwiches and the shortbread biscuits.
Recently, we had a high tea at our house and we upgraded our finger sandwiches by using Nagel’s Bagels! These are quick and easy and they are perfect for afternoon tea, a simple snack, an open house or your next get together.
Here is how I make them:
Cucumber Sandwiches – Slice a seedless English cucumber into 1/8″ slices. Cut open your favorite bagel (We used Sesame Seed). spread plain cream cheese on the top and bottom half of the bagel. Add the cucumber slices. Try not to overlap or they will slide out. Put the top on the bagel. Put 4 long toothpicks into the bagel to hold the sandwich together. Cut the bagel into fourths. That’s it!
Pimento Cheese Sandwiches – the key here is to use a very thick pimento cheese, not runny. We love Suga’s Pimento Cheese best. You simply spread your desired amount of cheese, put in the long toothpicks and cut apart into fourths. Done!
Chicken Salad – You can make your own or drive through Chicken Salad Chick. Either way, they will turn out great.
We have been waiting all winter and it’s finally here! The Farmers Markets are back. We love participating in Farmers Markets. We love seeing all our friends, supporting the local community and shopping for our groceries and other items from small local vendors just like us. This year, we are participating in the following markets:
The Marietta Square Farmers Market
We started with them about a month ago and are blown away by the reception we have received from this community. The shoppers, vendors and the organizers have all been wonderful. We are looking forward to participating in this market all year! Yes, that’s right, this is a year round market so no matter what the season, you can get fresh, local products at the Marietta Square Farmers Market.
Cartersville Farmers Market
Since Cartersville is our hometown, this market is especially near and dear to our hearts. We look forward to another amazing season this year beginning May 1 and going through the end of September.
The Market at the Mill
This market is so much fun! it is held every Tuesday evenings until the end of September. It goes from 5:30 – 8:30 pm at the Mill on Etowah in Canton. This is the same location as Reformation Brewery, The Cotton Mill Exchange and Thrive Co-working in Canton. One of the things that makes this market special is it isn’t just food and farming vendors. You will also find lots of locally made artwork and artisan goods.
We got this amazing charcuterie board from Appalachia Wood last year at the market;
I can’t pass up Brandie’s Homestead Goods Mexican Mocha coffee and
I always love seeing what Black Garden has been creating.
These markets will be our regulars every week. be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram to be kept up to date on special events and pop up events that we will be doing this year. Thank you for all the support you have given us and thank you for shopping local!
